Psst… here’s a secret: Incognito mode needs to be more sufficient to keep your browsing behavior private and secure.

A VPN, on the other hand, can ensure that no one tracks what you do online.

Google Chrome is the most widely known browser around the world right now.

Chrome also saves information about you, such as your browser history and search queries. It will remember your name, address, contact information, and login details if you allow auto-fill.

This is a fantastic option. However, if you’re using a shared computer or other people have access to your device, you may not wish all of this information visible to them, especially if you’re looking for particularly private or sensitive content online.

That is why Google Chrome has Incognito mode. When you use Incognito mode, Chrome does not save your browsing activity after you finish a session.

Incognito mode provides some privacy but not complete confidentiality. Indeed, when you open an Incognito mode, it states that your web surfing action may still be viewable to websites you visit, your company or school, and your internet provider.

    A VPN is the Solution

A virtual private network (VPN) is a platform that secures your data and generates a secure and confidential tunnel by which your data can pass. If a hacker obtains encrypted information, they cannot decode it. As a result, even if they exploit your data, your personal information will remain hidden.

Incognito mode restricts other users from viewing your device’s browsing habits and personal details.

A VPN protects your browsing habits and data from hackers, trackers, and online spy agencies.

When combined, they form the ultimate online security tool, ensuring that no one, no matter where can access your personal information.

How to Use a VPN to Enter Incognito Mode in Chrome:

    1) Locate and launch the VPN app on your device. (ExpressVPN is our top recommendation for using Incognito mode because it is lightning fast and employs cutting-edge security features to protect your privacy.)

    2) Select the server to which you want to connect, or use the ‘Smart Location’ feature to connect to the best available server.

    3) Achievement! You have successfully connected to the VPN network.

    4) Launch Google Chrome.

    5) Select New Incognito Window from the three dots in the upper right corner of your browser.

You can also open your Incognito window by pressing Ctrl-Shift-N on a PC or Command-Shift-N on a Mac.

This will open a new window you can use just like any other Chrome window. The difference is that it will not remember any information you enter, including URLs. This means that if someone gains access to your computer, they will be unable to view your browsing history.

Right-click the Chrome button and select Characteristics to make Incognito mode your default option. Locate the Aim field in the Shortcut window. Add a space, an apostrophe, and the word incognito at the end of the text. Then press the OK button.

You now know how to protect yourself from hackers, trackers, and internet surveillance by hiding your browsing details from people who have access to your device.
